Angela Larery, Ph.D., LSSP

Angela Larery, Ph.D., LSSP is dually licensed by the State of Texas as a Psychologist, and as a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP).

 

Dr. Larery was born in Kansas and raised in Joplin, Missouri. She graduated summa cum laude from Missouri Southern State University in Joplin with a Bachelors Degree (Honors) in Science, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Sociology. She was a member of the Alpha Chi Honor Society and the Psi Chi Honor Society for Psychology.

 

She graduated magna cum laude from University of North Texas (UNT) in Denton, Texas with a Masters Degree in Science, majoring in School Psychology

 

Dr. Larery continued at UNT and, again, graduated magna cum laude with a Doctoral Degree in Psychology, specializing in Clinical Health Psychology and Behavioral Medicine. While at UNT she was a Graduate Teaching Fellow, teaching courses on Memory, Cognition and Perception, Health Psychology, and Quantitative Methods. She also was a Psychology Extern at Cook Children's Hospital in Fort Worth, a Psychology Intern at Grand Prairie ISD, and an LSSP at Arlington ISD.

 

Dr. Larery completed her Residency in Pediatric Psychology and Neuropsychology at IWK Children's Hospital in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, and completed her postdoctoral Fellowship in Neuropsychology with Larry Pollock Ph.D. & Associates in Houston, Texas.

 

Dr. Larery has worked previously as the Co-Director of the Developmental Assessment Team for Katy ISD, as an Autism Assessment Specialist with FOCUS Initiative in Stafford, Texas, and as a Clinical Neuropsychologist with Matthew Nance Ph.D.& Associates in Houston where she specialized in neuropsychological assessments of individuals with memory problems, suspected dementia such as Alzheimer's Disease, frontotemporal dementia, and Lewy body dementia, and she was a regular speaker for the Alzheimer's Society (Houston).

 

Most recently she was a Clinical Neuropsychologist with Legacy Community Health in Houston, specializing in comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations of individuals from ages 3-to-75 with a wide array of concerns including Autism Spectrum Disorders, Learning Disabilities, ADHD, and Dementia.

 

In her personal life she is a loving wife, the exceedingly proud step-mom of Isabella and Charles, a voracious reader, enthusiastic supporter of animal charities such as The Greater Good, and she is the center of the universe for her 172 lb. English Mastiff.
